Situation:
To reinforce their position as an expert on all things insect, Terminix—the largest termite and pest control company in the world—launched Harry’s Big Adventure, an educational website for parents, teachers and children. To facilitate learning, we employed fun and engaging features.
Solution:
We developed two online games for the site: Atlas the Ant’s Sugar Cube Heist and Woody the Termite’s Cellulose Kitchen. The games intend to teach children about specific aspects of insects and help encourage repeat visits.
Result:
The site has excellent engagement metrics, performing 25% higher than similar-sized sites in the educational website category in terms of time spent on site and pages viewed per visit. A metric was designed for “high engagement” for visitors who had spent longer than two minutes on the site, visited four or more pages, and had downloaded an item or played one of the games—remarkably, more than 14% of site traffic falls within this category.
